I am Kira, a self-taught artist born in 1995. As a child, I was obsessed with ancient Egypt, which inspired the nickname "vaenaton,"
meaning "the only one for Aton."
At the age of 15, I started painting on my computer, but after my first plein air sessions in Pskov, my hometown, I turned to traditional art.
I primarily work with acrylics, gouache, and oil pastels, drawing inspiration mainly from everyday life observations, emotional experiences, and memories. Being rather on the sadder and darker side, I cherish every unusual event I notice and capture. I aim for a simpler, childlike style in art, but the older I get, the more influences intervene. Since I began drawing nude figures with ink at life drawing sessions in 2022, I have increasingly incorporated ink into my work. At the end of 2024, I released my first short game in the graphic style I developed.
I have never been a full-time artist. My career began in 2016 in marketing, and within a couple of years,
I used this experience to transition into the data field. Constantly seeking to connect my interests, I earned a master's degree in Digital Humanities (2021). During my master's, I taught Data Culture at the university, where I guided students' data projects and created a lesson on building simple websites for an online course. At work, I use web development and data analytics stack, and I am always curious to apply these skills to developing interactive media projects.
I am currently based in Estonia (Tartu, Tallinn). My creative experience, besides painting and drawing, includes editorial and web illustration, merch design, street and textile art, and identity development. Email me to offer a project or buy an artwork: vaenaton@gmail.com
